What it is
WOL DualBoot combines an Android app with a local Windows/Linux agent. It lets you wake your computer from Android and, on compatible dual-boot setups, boot Linux or Windows without touching the PC.
This version supports Wake-on-LAN over Ethernet. WoWLAN over Wi-Fi is not supported.
Core flow
- Install the agent on the computer.
- Pair Android by scanning the QR shown by the tray app.
- Review Wake-on-LAN from the agent.
- Wake the computer from Android.
- Shut down, reboot or choose Linux/Windows when the host supports it.
Components
The Android app is the controller: it stores your computers, scans the QR and shows only available actions.
WOL DualBoot Agent prepares Wake-on-LAN, publishes capabilities and runs closed actions on the computer.
Dual-boot requirement
Choosing Linux or Windows from the app requires GRUB to be installed and configured as the boot manager, with valid entries for both systems and grub-reboot available. The agent detects and uses that setup; it does not install or configure GRUB.
What it is not
It does not replace a remote desktop or a system administration tool. It does not open SSH, WinRM or PSRemoting, and Android does not send user-written scripts or commands.
